I forgot to update last week, so this will be a general update of the animation for the fortnight.

Animation progress is going well. I started working on a longer shot last week to get the hard work done. Most of the animation is pretty easy, but I'm sure most people would agreed that animating secondary animation in flash is a bit of a pain. If it doesn't work alongside the main, it makes the whole thing look wrong. I had that problem a lot with my first shot, where Emily has to lean over, stand back up and then her body is nearly blown away by wind. Although the hair is the main secondary animation, it turned out to be the easier of them to do, along with eye blinking. The main problem I've been having is the animation of the bottom of her dress.

Although her dress isn't all in the shot and very little is actually seen, there's enough there to see when something is going wrong. I still haven't perfected it, but I've solves most of the issues with it.

End of last week I also composed several of the still shots. Having a slight anime approach to some of the shots is beng a lifesaver when it comes to time. There will be some animation, such as blinking and some hair movement, but these shots will only take a short time to finish.

This week I've brought the majority of the first shot together and just need backgrounds and some food splatter animation (don't ask!). It could also use a few more inbetween frames to smooth out the animation. But that will come later, once I have all the shots together. Today I started working on another long shot. I managed to get most the keyframes built up in flash. I just need to animate the demon lots more and add Emily's inbetween frames.

Assistance with the animation seems to be going well. It's still early days, but it'll be interesting to see what comes back. I'll post up some samples of the animation soon.
